Pokemon Bank was initially released back in late 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS as a way to store your Pokemon from Generation V upward, as well as the Virtual Console releases of the older games, in one location. Things have gotten a bit more complicated with the release of the Nintendo Switch and the Pokemon Let’s Go games, the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield, and even Pokemon Go, so now The Pokemon Company has announced a successor to Pokemon Bank known as Pokemon Home.

The Pokemon Company held a press conference last night that brought us many different announcements, including Pokemon Sleep. That press conference also revealed Pokemon Home for the first time as well, which looks to be the end all be all for connecting your Pokemon games.

Like Pokemon Bank, Pokemon Home will be a cloud based service that will allow you to store your Pokemon in one location. This time though, the app will not be exclusive to say the Nintendo 3DS, but instead will be available for both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

You will be able to transfer your Pokemon from Pokemon Bank over to Pokemon Home as a way to obtain your Nintendo 3DS Pokemon, as well as transfer between the two Pokemon Let’s Go games, Pokemon Sword and Shield, and Pokemon Go itself.

From the above image released through the press conference, it appears Pokemon will be a one way trip to Pokemon Home from everything except for Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will be able to both get and send Pokemon to Home from it. However, Pokemon Home is not slated to released until early 2020, so it will not be available at the launch of Pokemon Sword and Shield later this year.

It was also stated that you will be able to trade via Pokemon Home as well, though they did not reveal how exactly that will work at this time.

Lara Croft Will Become a Final Fantasy Character https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/lara-croft-final-fantasy-character/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/lara-croft-final-fantasy-character/#respond Mon, 05 Mar 2018 18:46:06 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=686367

Fans of the Tomb Raider series know that 2018 will be an exciting year for the franchise. Not only there is a new film adaptation premiering in March, but also Square Enix has confirmed the release of the next main entry in the action game series. But aside of that, this year will also mark the official marriage between two of the most emblematic properties of the company and the videogame industry in general, as the Tomb Raider protagonist is set to appear on a Final Fantasy game.

The title in question is the mobile hit Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which is one of the smartphone titles which has made a better use of a classic videogame brand in the mobile landscape by presenting an adapted gameplay without losing the most distinctive aspects of the console games. The game has certainly attracted a considerable community, after reaching 30 million downloads worldwide.

Lara will appear on the game as a playable character that can be obtained through an specific event or by gather daily login bonuses. Players will have the chance to welcome the adventurer on their group from March 9 to March 22. On top of that, there will also be a new raid based on the action game Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and various skins based on side characters from that title.

This is not the first time that the mobile game receives the special visit of a figure from outside the Final Fantasy universe, as last year it allowed players to add popstar Ariana Grande to their group.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is available now on iOS and Android devices. Watch the new trailer below.

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition Launches in February for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/final-fantasy-xv-pocket-edition-february-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/final-fantasy-xv-pocket-edition-february-mobile/#respond Mon, 29 Jan 2018 17:54:05 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=676723

One of the many projects related with Final Fantasy XV that are due this year is a adaptation for mobile platforms that surprised most of us when it was announced back in 2017. Now Square Enix has revealed that the game will make its worldwide debut on February 9 for iOS and Android, with players getting the chance to experience Prince Noctis’ adventure to reclaim the throne in a new version of the game that reimagines the world of Eos with a cartoony artstyle, and adds a touch control for battles, making it accessible to all kinds of audiences.

The story has been condensated in 10 chapters, with the first one being available to download for free for all users. The game seems to be a very advanced production, as it only supports iPhone 6s or later running with iOS 11 installed. It also requires 5Gb minimum for the lower resolution in both platforms, and 8Gb minimum for the version with highest resolution. Check out other requirements on the official website.

Here is the official synopsis: “The Tale of the Chosen King, Savior to the Star. After years of fighting, the nations of Lucis and Niflheim at last agree to an armistice. As a symbol of this promised peace, Noctis, crown prince of Lucis, is to wed the Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae. The prince sets forth for his wedding on the eve of the signing ceremony, sent off by his father, King Regis. Unbeknownst to Noctis, however, the journey ahead is fraught with perils…”

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition is not the only FFXV-related game on mobile platforms, as players can currently enjoy A New Empire and King’s Knight for free.

Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition launches on February 9 for iOS and Android. Pre-order the game on the App Store now.

BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War Launches In 2018; New Heroine Revealed https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/blazblue-alternative-dark-war-launches-in-2018-new-heroine-revealed/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/blazblue-alternative-dark-war-launches-in-2018-new-heroine-revealed/#respond Thu, 11 Jan 2018 14:02:21 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=675632

You might remember back in August 2017 that Arc System Works unveiled a new title for the long-running BlazBlue series, titled BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, for iOS and Android. Well, at long last, we’re finally getting new info about it.

Today we learn that BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War will launch in 2018 in Japan. There was no specific release date and no other regions were mentioned, but it’s worth noting that BlazBlue has yet to have a release — main entry or otherwise — that is exclusive to Japan. The longest fans had to wait before a BlazBlue was localized was when Chrono Phantasma arrived in Japan in 2012, but arrived everywhere else in 2014.

In addition to the release window, the BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War teaser website was updated to reveal a new heroine named Ciel Sulfur (voiced by Rina Honnizumi). She’s described as a mysterious girl who works for Mitsurugi Agency and fights alongside the player during the course of the game.

Though this is all we know about her for now, the reveal does have some interesting implications outside this game. Currently, Arc System Works is developing another spin-off title called BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and considering that the game features characters from a bunch of other fighting games it has developed (as well as RWBY), it’s possible that Ciel could appear as a way to further promote the mobile game; in fact, she could very well appear in later main series titles like Es did after debuting in XBlaze – Code: Embryo.

Unfortunately, this is all that Arc System Works has to share with us at this time. Details such as BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War’s premise or gameplay still remains unknown. However, considering the game’s release window, it’s safe to assume we’ll be getting this information sooner rather than later.

Everyone who grew up in the 90s either enjoyed or suffered the Tamagotchi fever. Launched in 2017, the Tamagothi was a small electronic device that allowed players to take care of their own digital pet. That including duties like feeding, cleaning, playing…and sadly, mourning, as the game did not shy in punishing players for their inaction by killing their creatures.

Now, Bandai Namco celebrates the 20th anniversary of their generational icon by introducing it to a brand new audience with a game that will be available on iOS and Android devices. My Tamagotchi Forever uses the same basic premise of the original creation, simply adding a brand new visual design and a more complex gameplay, with players now being able to take their Tamagotchi out to the town and visit other friends. There will also be new minigames in addition to the classic actions, which makes this a perfect modern reinvention of the brand.

Here is the official description of the game: “Raise your very own Tamagotchi characters, and share your adventures with your friends! Your Tamagotchi character needs your daily care to stay healthy and happy. Keep it well fed, washed, and entertained, then meet other Tamagotchi friends in town for more fun. But don’t forget to put your character to bed!”

My Tamagotchi Forever will be avalable to download for free on iOS and Android early 2018. Watch the trailer below.

World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo Announced for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/world-of-final-fantasy-meli-melo-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/world-of-final-fantasy-meli-melo-mobile/#respond Tue, 21 Nov 2017 17:27:54 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=670053

Square Enix has unveiled today a new entry of World of Final Fantasy in development for smartphones. Named Meli-Melo, the game retains the focus on creatures known as “Mirages” and the crossover component with other Final Fantasy games, that was already present in the 2016 game released on PS4 and PSVita and recently ported to PC, as well as the characteristic chibi-artstyle, making it perfect for the younger audiences. The game will be free to download and include microtransactions, and will feature multiplayer options to make battles more engaging.

World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo takes place in the fictional world of Valgallan, where the Mirages coexist with a group of people known as Lilikins. The story takes an unexpected turn when King Cecil suddenly dissapears, taken by dark forces. The Player is then summoned to the world in order to help rescuing the King and fight the evil forces that threat to take over the Valgallan.

Players receive the ability to befriend Mirages and train them in the Garden User, where they can make them grow by giving them magical gems known as “Rise,” obtained while exploring. Meli-Melo stands out from the original console game with a new addition to battles that allows players to stack many Mirages on top of each other to make stats higher and make use of special abilities. In multiplayer, these Mirage towers get even stronger and unlock special moves that can change the fate of an encounter.

World of Final Fantasy: Meli-Melo launches this year in Japan, with pre-registrations giving access to multiple rewards to the first players. Watch the trailer below.

Animal Crossing For Smartphones Will Be Revealed This Week https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/animal-crossing-for-smartphones-will-be-revealed-this-week/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/animal-crossing-for-smartphones-will-be-revealed-this-week/#respond Mon, 23 Oct 2017 13:14:51 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=667070

Nintendo has scheduled one of their Nintendo Direct presentations that will be dedicated to the reveal of Animal Crossing for smartphones on October 24th.  During the presentation, Nintendo says that it will be delivering information for a mobile version of Animal Crossing and it appears that the live stream will dedicated solely to this game only.

Nintendo’s site says that news on Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch or Nintendo 3DS will not be announced, nor will they cover any other mobile games other than the reveal of Animal Crossing for phones.  The disclaimer is likely to not get anyone’s hopes up too high for a surprise announcement about other Animal Crossing titles that may or may not be in the works.

With the Nintendo Switch having a huge year, fans of the series are patiently waiting for news on the popular franchise and when it’s coming to the hybrid console.

The presentation will run on October 24th at 8:00pm PT and will last for approximately 15 minutes.

Depending on how it’s handled an Animal Crossing mobile title could be a good fit for phones.  It’s already a game that is best played on the go in short bursts, and Nintendo has a huge opportunity to deliver another hugely popular mobile game as they did in Super Mario Run.

Details regarding the pricing, release date, and gameplay will likely be revealed through the presentation.

Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire Tops 20 Million Downloads https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/final-fantasy-xv-empire-20-million-downloads/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/final-fantasy-xv-empire-20-million-downloads/#respond Thu, 19 Oct 2017 09:47:18 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=666910

If you have been following track of the dozens of side projects related to Final Fantasy XV, you will know that one of the most unexpected iterations of the brand is a mobile strategy game called A New Empire. Today, developer Machine Zone has announced that the free to play title has been downloaded more than 20 million times by iOS and Android users worldwide. A great success that only helps to solidify the strength of the brand nearing the first anniversary of the launch of the main game.

Even if it it sports the Final Fantasy XV brand, A New Empire has little relation to Square Enix, as the company simply licensed the title and designs to Machine Zone, the mobile game creator of massive hits like Game of War and Mobile Strike. In fact, the gameplay is extremely reminiscing of those titles. The CEO of Machine Zone, Gabriel Leydon, has spoken to Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu about the success of the game and what the future holds for it, including the possibility of control new characters other than Noctis and the use of summons.

Leydon says that while the game is specially popular in Japan, North America is also a big market for them. And the marketing seems to be one of the keys to its success, with their recent spot with Instagram sensation Alexis Ren being a clear draw among users. Apparently her popularity on social media was a determining reason to hire her, as her involvement has made news of the game spread across a huge audience that fits in the profile of users that they are seeking.

Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire is available now for iOS and Android. Watch the popular commercial with Alexis Ren below.

Mobius Final Fantasy Will Reveal the Story of Tidus After FFX https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/mobius-final-fantasy-story-tidus-ffx/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/mobius-final-fantasy-story-tidus-ffx/#respond Tue, 17 Oct 2017 10:10:05 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=666843

Fans of Final Fantasy X should pay attention to this, as the ambitious mobile game Mobius Final Fantasy is tackling one of the major storylines of the franchise in an upcoming event named ‘Dream Within a Dream.’ While we already know all about Yuna’s future as a sphere hunter thanks to FFX-2, this crossover will reveal what happened to Tidus between the dramatic final moments of FFX to the secret ending of FFX-2.

It is not a coincidence that this portion of the story is being explored as a Mobius FF event, as the director of that title is none other than Motomu Toriyama, who directed Final Fantasy X-2, and is joined by Yoshinori Kitase and other producers and developers who worked on the original Final Fantasy X. So this event feels like it has the validity of a proper new chapter in the story.

As the trailer suggests, the story event begins right after the post-credits scene of FFX, in which it was already suggested that Tidus’ tale was not over. The star of the Zanarkand Abes wakes up in the world of Palamecia, and is saved by the Warrior of Light from one of the creatures of Chaos.

The Dream Within a Dream event has already started in the Japanese version of Mobius FF, and it’s expected to reach the Western version in the coming months.

Mobius Final Fantasy is out now as a free to play title on PC and mobile platforms. Watch the trailer below.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice Out Now on Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/phoenix-wright-ace-attorney-spirit-justice-out-now-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/phoenix-wright-ace-attorney-spirit-justice-out-now-mobile/#respond Fri, 22 Sep 2017 18:45:50 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=665461

Capcom has released the sixth main entry of the popular Ace Attorney series on mobile platforms, with users of iOS and Android now getting the chance to solve a new set of mysteries in the kingdom of Khura’in. The game is offered as a single package on Android, while iOS users can download the first chapter for $0.99, and then purchase the ‘Main Story Set.’

This entry follows the adventures of defense attorney Phoenix Wright and his understudies Apollo Justice and Athena Cykes, who travel to the distant land of Khura’in to meet Phoenix’s former assistant and fan favourite Maya Fey. Once they arrive, they will get involved in a series of mysteries and trials that will put their lives in peril, as Khura’in has a special approach to justice that is different to anything they have seen back at home.

Despite the higher stakes, the game stays faithful to the fundamental structure of previous entries, with the game dividing each chapter in an investigation period, where players collect clues to help solve the mystery, and the trials, where they try to prove and defend their theories. This entry also allows players to investigate each location from different angles using the 3D navigation introduced in the previous entry.

A brand new element of the trials are the Divination Séances, particular figures of the Khura’in justice system that shows supposed memories of the crime, with players having to spot the incongruencies between each vision.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice is now available on the App Store and the Google Play Store.

Just when you thought that Minecraft couldn’t hit any other console, the game is heading to the Nintendo 3DS.  Set to release in digital version on 9/13, Minecraft 3DS was revealed during the most recent Nintendo Direct.

The digital version will arrive first, but there is a packaged version coming to the handheld at an unspecified date.  The Minecraft 3DS version includes five skin packs and two texture packs.  Other details gleaned from the video were that inventory, crafting and map would be handled on the touchscreen.  While the gameplay would be on the main screen.

Players will be able to choose between button or touch controls for the game.

Nintendo is no stranger to a relationship with Microsoft to put the crafting and building game on their platforms.  The game just arrived on the Nintendo Switch and we liked it in our review.

We won’t need to wait long to see how Minecraft does on the Nintendo 3DS.  It will get the benefit of the New Nintendo 3DS handhelds.  The game will only be available for those that own the more recent 3DS systems.

Square Enix has launched today its latest fantasy mobile game. It’s an action scroller game called King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon, and it may sound familiar to some players, as the game is actually a modern version of a classic title released 30 years ago. Not only that, but players of Final Fantasy XV will recognize it as the game that Noctis and his friends play most nights they stay at a hotel, making it a semi-spin-off of the RPG.

King’s Knight is a thrilling action game that is set in a classic fantasy world, and in which players launch attacks while the screen is constantly moving upwards, with the added difficulties of certain barriers. The game is free to play and it allows coop game for up to four players. This new version also features adapted controls, offering players to control the game with their both hands or only with one, right or left. The game received a new trailer during past E3 2017.

Here is an official overview of the story via press release: 6th Moon of the Luvan Year 320. Princess Claire of Olthea is abducted by the Dark Dragon Tolfidan. Meanwhile in Olthea, four brave souls receive the blessing of the time god Khalam, and embark on a quest to rescue the captured princess. After numerous trials and tribulations, the four heroes arrive at the gates of Tolfidan’s stronghold…

New Nintendo Switch Mobile App Update Fixes Its Two Biggest Issues https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-switch-mobile-app-update/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-switch-mobile-app-update/#respond Wed, 13 Sep 2017 15:08:00 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=664810

Nintendo has and released update 1.10 for its Switch mobile app for iOS and Android and it finally allows users to do what it should have been permitted in the first place: chat while other apps are in use or when your phone’s screen is switched off.

As you might recall, the Nintendo Switch mobile app was released back in July as a companion app for the titular console. Unfortunately, the app left much to be desired, with users being unable to do other activities such as look up guides or check messages while the app was active or be able to use it at all if the screen wasn’t on.

With the coming of update 1.10, however, it appears that these issues have been fixed. Now, according to Nintendo’s official website, “voice chat will now continue when other apps are opened” and “voice chat will now continue during sleep mode.” There is also mention of other issues being resolved, but what those issues might be wasn’t specified.

Despite the update, there is still one major issue that the Switch mobile app suffers from: multiple apps with microphones/audio output. Users won’t be able to switch between this app and another one if it uses the device’s microphone or includes audio output. As such, turning on others apps that makes use of the device’s audio output, like Spotify or YouTube, will likely interrupt chat.

That said, users are already starting to take notice and while they aren’t giving the update outright praise, they do note that this is a step in the right direction.

“This is definitely good and it’s a step in get right direction,” one redditor wrote. “However fixing a completely broken app doesn’t make the overall voice implementation any better. Baby steps I guess.”

“We’re one step closer,” another wrote. “Next thing they need to do is build the function onto the console and delete the app.”

The Nintendo Switch mobile app is one of the features that will be covered once Nintendo launches its paid online service, so its good to see the company working out the kinks sooner, rather than later. Similarly, it will be interesting to see what updates or features gets applied to the app before the service goes live.

Mobile Game The Walking Dead: March to War Is Out Now https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/mobile-game-the-walking-dead-march-to-war-out-now/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/mobile/mobile-game-the-walking-dead-march-to-war-out-now/#respond Fri, 01 Sep 2017 11:20:33 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=664295

From today, mobile gamers can enjoy a brand new multiplayer strategy game based on the hugely popular The Walking Dead franchise. Developed by Disruptor Beam, March to War lets players manage a team of characters who must collect resources through a devastated Washington D.C. to prepare themselves for the upcoming war against another group of survivors lead by Negan. Other famous characters from the series confirmed to appear are Michonne and Rick.

The Walking Dead: March to War plays in isometric view in order to manage easily the actions of each character that we guide through the city. Players can order them to explore, attack human or un-dead enemies, collect resources, or search for other survivors and make them join your cause. The game also supports online cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, which adds yet another layer of fun and complexity, as players can form alliances that can break through the game.

The visual style is clearly based on the comic book series, and the story will be determined by the choices that players make in situations that reference the original works. All in all, The Walking Dead: March to War seems to be a high-value development thanks to its graphics and its rich gameplay.

The franchise is going through a sweet moment in the videogame world, as apart from March to War there are multiple game projects currently in development, such as a new location-based mobile game, and Telltale’s Final Season of their own Walking Dead series.

The Walking Dead: March to War is available now to download for free from the App Store for iOS devices and the Google Play Store for Android phones. Watch the launch trailer below.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition Announced for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/final-fantasy-xv-pocket-edition-announced-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/final-fantasy-xv-pocket-edition-announced-mobile/#respond Tue, 22 Aug 2017 10:17:28 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=663604

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has announced at Gamescom 2017 what is maybe the most unexpected iteration of the game that we could imagine. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is a fully realized remake of the console game especially adapted for mobile devices, featuring a cartooney artstyle much less graphically demanding than the prime version.

Pocket Edition is launching this fall for iOS, Android, and Windows 10, and will tell the full story of Final Fantasy XV in 10 downloadable episodes, with the first one being available for free. The gameplay has been reworked into some easy to use touch controls, and the new artstyle is traying to appeal the wider audience of mobile games. And while the gameplay seems to have been simplified, most core elements like boss battles, events, and summons seems to have been kept in.

A year after the console release, Square Enix now wants to expand the business life of the game by finding new audiences. This way, the recently announced Windows Edition will try to appeal to the hardcore players who can afford running the game at the highest specs, while this Pocket Edition is for the casual gamers that are not invested in graphics or complex gameplay mechanics.

The Final Fantasy XV brand is no stranger to the mobile market, as other spin-offs like A New Empire or King’s Knight are available now or launching this year.

Pokemon Go Plus Deluxe Accessory Set Launching in Japan https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/pokemon-go-deluxe-accessory-set-japan/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/pokemon-go-deluxe-accessory-set-japan/#respond Fri, 04 Aug 2017 19:13:07 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=662499

Pokemon Go is testing a new product in the Japanese market, launching a Deluxe Set with various accessories related to Pokemon Go Plus. Apart from the main device, the box includes a series of stickers to customize our Pokemon Go Plus, a ring accessory to carry the device more easily in our hand, a PokeBall screwdriver, and a PokeBall power bank that allows to extend the battery of our smartphone.

The Pokemon Go Plus is a device that connects with our iOS or Android phone via Bluetooth and warns players of nearby events such as Pokemon sightings or the location of new gyms. It’s also helpful when it comes to catching Pokemons and obtaining new items. This accessory set is a great option for fans who want to take their expertise in the game even further.

The Pokemon Go Plus DX Set is launching this month in Japan for 8,550 Yen, which is about $77. So far there are no signs that the set will be released in other countries, although sales will probably determine this.

This is the official list of items included in the box:

  • Pokemon GO Plus
  • Pokemon GO Plus Ring Accessory
  • Pokemon GO Plus Customizable Stickers
  • PokeBall Philips Screwdriver
  • PokeBall Power Bank Anker 10,000 maH Watch battery CR2032

Pokemon Go is going through a rough time, following the controversial anniversary festival in Chicago or the questionable implementation of the legendary Pokemon in the game.

Persona Q2 Coming to Nintendo 3DS https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/persona-q2-coming-to-nintendo-3ds/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/persona-q2-coming-to-nintendo-3ds/#respond Wed, 02 Aug 2017 12:17:34 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=662373

Atlus has announced that Persona Q2 is coming to the Nintendo 3DS.  Despite many holding out hope for a version of Persona 5 to head to the Nintendo Switch, this announcement will have to do for Nintendo fans.

A teaser site for the game recently went live, and it’s using graphics and text from Persona 5 so we can likely expect that Atlus follows suit and releases something similar to what they did with Persona Q: Shadow of the Labryrinth.  A crossover title, Persona Q used a different artstyle on the 3DS but focuses on dungeon crawler gameplay with characters from Persona 3 and 4.  Shadow of the Labryrinth was considered canon in the Persona timeline and we can likely expect the same from Q2.

However, this is just speculation. Exact details about Persona Q2 are unknown as we’ve just gotten the announcement for the game.  We can only look at the previous Q title as for what to expect from Q2.

Atlus continues their trend of releasing games on mature platforms.  The 3DS’ massive installed base is probably a good place to start when asking why they chose to release Persona Q2 on Nintendo 3DS only and not have anything Persona related at this time for the Nintendo Switch.

A release date for Persona Q2 on Nintendo 3DS has not been announced at this time.

First Look at Mobile Game The Walking Dead: March to War https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mobile-walking-dead-march-war/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mobile-walking-dead-march-war/#respond Fri, 14 Jul 2017 19:06:43 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=661531

Developer Disruptor Beam has shared the first preview at the gameplay of its upcoming game based on The Walking Dead comic series. Subtitled ‘March to War,’ the game offers an experience which requires the best strategic skills from the players, while they control the most popular characters from the series while they fight against Negan.

Players will be able to play in online cooperative and competitive modes while they look for resources in a devastated Washington DC. The game will put special attention to the management of resources, tactic combats between human factions, and, of course, the ever present walkers.

As the trailer showcases, most part of the missions take place in the city, which is seen in isometrict view, as many tactic games. Players can form group of characters who go on to different kind of missions, from exploring, collecting resources, to perform frontal attacks against the enemy. From the look of the graphics, this seems like it will be a pretty demanding title for our smartphones.

Disruptor Beam has a vast experience in developing titles for mobile platforms, especially those based in popular franchises. Their previous releases include Star Trek: Timelines, and Game of Thrones: Ascent. This new Walking Dead videogame seems like it will have a direct connection with the comic book series rather than the HBO show, with the characters being presented in a more artistic way rather than their real-image appearance.

The Walking Dead: March to War is coming this summer for iOS and Android devices. Get more information on the official website, and check out the trailer below.

Cygames Opens Pre-Registration For Princess Connect Re: Dive https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/cygames-opens-pre-registration-for-princess-connect-re-dive/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/cygames-opens-pre-registration-for-princess-connect-re-dive/#respond Mon, 10 Jul 2017 15:43:02 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=661183

Cygames, the Japan-based studio most known for Granblue Fantasy, Shadowverse and Rage of Bahamut, has opened pre-registration for Princess Connect Re: Dive, its latest mobile game for iOS and Android, in preparation for its launch later this year.

As part of the pre-registration period, Cygames is offering special incentives to encourage more people to participate. The rewards are based on how many people actually register, so the more people who do so, the better.

The rewards are as follows:

  • 10,000 pre-registrations:  150 Jewels (enough for one gacha roll)
  • 30,000 pre-registrations: 300 Jewels (enough for two rolls)
  • 50,000 pre-registrations: 450 Jewels (enough for three rolls)
  • 100,000 pre-registrations: 750 Jewels (enough for five rolls)
  • 150,000 pre-registrations: 1050 Jewels (enough for seven rolls)
  • 200,000 pre-registrations: 500 Jewels (enough for 10 rolls)

Described as an anime RPG, Princess Connect Re: Dive was announced in August 2016 as a follow-up for the now-ended Princess Connect. The gacha-style game has been developed in collaboration with CyberAgent (Girl Friend Beta) and tells the story of a group of female adventurers on a journey to complete a difficult task.

In addition to the pre-registration, Cygames has also announced it will also release a “Princess Connect Re: Dive Priconne Character Song 01″ CD on September 20 for 1,200 yen, featuring the songs Lost Princess (the game’s theme) and Tsunagu Mono. The first of these songs is sung by characters Priconne (voiced by MAO), Kokkoro (voiced by Miku Ito), and Kyaru (voiced by Rika Tachibana), while the latter is sung by Yui (voiced by Risa Taneda), Hiyori (voiced by Nao Toyama), and Rei (voiced by Saori Hayami).

Cygames has yet to mention if Princess Connect Re: Dive will get an English patch like Granblue Fantasy or a fully-supported English version like Shadowverse, assuming it gets anything in English at all. If it does, hopefully fans won’t have to wait as long as they did with GBF.

Nintendo More Open to Freemium Model After Poor Sales of Super Mario Run https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-freemium-sales-super-mario-run/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-freemium-sales-super-mario-run/#respond Sat, 08 Jul 2017 10:23:52 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=661100

Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima seemed more open to the idea of releasing mobile games that follow the same ‘freemium’ model of Fire Emblem Heroes, during a Q&A with investors made public this week. The preference for that model comes after admiting the disappointing numbers of Super Mario Run, which has been revealed to have failed to transform its initial hype into a profitable venture.

Released on December 2016, Super Mario Run had a very promising launch, topping download charts all over the world. The game offered its first levels for free, while players were required to pay $9.99 to unlock the full game. However, Kimishima now admits that less than 10% of the 150 million downloads have turned into actual sales.

On the other hand, Fire Emblem Heroes launched last February as a free to play game which contained in-app purchases. Despite receiving only a tenth of the downloads of Super Mario Run, Fire Emblem Heroes has ended up with the higher earnings, teaching Nintendo a valuable lesson for future releases: “While there are consumers all over the world who want to play a Mario game, there are varying economic situations across the world, and some consumers are not able to pay for the game.”

Kimishima says that future Nintendo releases on mobile will explore more flexible ways of purchases aside of the single-payment: “In the future we will consider not only a single set price, but other methods that incorporate a wider variety of elements that allow as many consumers as possible to play.”

Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes are available for iOS and Android devices.

Final Fantasy XV Strategy Spin-Off ‘A New Empire’ Released for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/final-fantasy-xv-new-empire-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/final-fantasy-xv-new-empire-mobile/#respond Thu, 29 Jun 2017 09:53:51 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=660540

The Final Fantasy XV universe keeps expanding with a new spin-off, this time for mobile platforms. Titled A New Empire, the free to play game is developed by Game of War and Mobile Strike creators Machine Zone, using the license of Square Enix. Players will be able to build their own city, collect resources, and create an army to use against other players in online battles. The game was previously available for iOS devices in certain regions, but today it has been released worldwide for both iOS and Android.

While A New Empire puts the Final Fantasy XV character designs front and center, the direct influence of the previous strategy games by the developer is more than obvious, which is not too surprising considering that both Game of War and Mobile Strike are still two of the most profitable mobile titles in the world. A New Empire simply seeks to offer a new refresh to those veteran players of the other titles, and also attrack fans of the console RPG who might not normally play a mobile game of this nature.

More than six months after its release, the Final Fantasy XV project is still as active as ever, with the arrival of the Episode Prompto DLC this week, the announcement of a fishing spin-off for PSVR called Monster of the Deep, and the upcoming release of another mobile spin-off called King’s Knight.

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion Announced for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/assassins-creed-rebellion-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/assassins-creed-rebellion-mobile/#respond Wed, 28 Jun 2017 09:04:00 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=660433

Ubisoft is not wasting any time on its flagship series, and after the successful presentation of Assassin’s Creed: Origins during E3 2017, the French company has unveiled a new game of the franchise targeting mobile platforms. Named Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion, the new title will have players managing and assassin fortress in Spain in times of the Inquisition. As opposed to the realistic designs of other entries, Rebellion will showcase a more cartoony look, as a way to appeal to the more family-friendly audience of free mobile games.

Players expand their base by collecting resources, gaining experience, and building new rooms that serve different functions, like processing materials or training new members. The formula is certainly reminiscing of the mechanics of Fallout: Shelter. After some time, players will have trained a good number of assassins each showcasing different skills that will make them more apt to different types of missions. The brotherhood will be inhabited by classic heroes of the franchise like Ezio or Shao Jun, as well as brand new characters

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion is currently in development for mobile devices functioning with at least iOS 8 or Android 4.1. Ubisoft claims that the title will be released “soon,” although it hasn’t shared any more details. Watch the first trailer below.

Mistwalker Officially Presents Terra Battle 2 and Terra Wars https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mistwalker-terra-battle-2-terra-wars/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mistwalker-terra-battle-2-terra-wars/#respond Thu, 22 Jun 2017 09:01:01 +0000 https://aotf.com/?p=660172

As Famitsu advanced earlier this week, Hironobu Sakaguchi has presented his two new projects that has been developing under his independent studio, Mistwalker. The two games are Terra Battle 2 and Terra Wars, which are both part of the newly named Terra World series, which has its origin in the 2014 game for mobile Terra Battle. Just like the original, the two new entries will be released on iOS, Android, and PC as free to play titles.

Terra Battle 2 has been the one to receive a more thorough presentation, as it’s the title that is expected to release sooner. Despite having a numeric name, the Terra Battle series will follow the same trend as Sakaguchi’s most famous creation, the Final Fantasy series, featuring a completely new set of characters and a brand new story in each entry. In this case, the game begins when an ancient evil is awakened by accident, as the trailer explains.

The most important new feature in Terra Battle 2 is a new world map that players will be able to explore algongside the group of characters, and it will allow to organize their formation before entering battle.

The other game announced, Terra Wars, is being developed by Mistwalker and Arzest, and will also release on mobile and PC. It is expected to follow a different style of gameplay from the Terra Wars titles, but Sakaguchi has not revealed any details yet.

Terra Battle 2 will release this summer for mobile and PC in Japan and North America. The release date of Terra Wars has not been determined yet. Watch the trailer for Terra Battle 2 below.

FFXV Universe Title King’s Knight Releasing This Year for Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/ffxv-kings-knight-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/ffxv-kings-knight-mobile/#respond Wed, 14 Jun 2017 09:44:02 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=659607

Part of the E3 briefing on the new projects related to Final Fantasy XV was the confirmation that the loosely related spin-off King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon will be released this year on mobile platforms for free. The game is a scrolling shooter set in a medieval fantasy world. It is actually based on a videogame released by Squaresoft in 1986 for NES and MSX.

Final Fantasy XV players will remember King’s Knight as the game that Noctis and his friends play when they spend the night at a hotel or camping. It’s time to see if the fans will become as addicted to the game as Noct and his friends are. A it’s appropriate, the game allows online multiplayer for up to four players.

With the release of King’s Knight, the Final Fantasy XV Universe now includes a wide variety of videogames and other products, including the CG movie Kingsglaive, the anime Brotherhood, the free digital game A King’s Tale, the recently announced VR game Monster of the Deep, and, of course, the main Final Fantasy XV game.

King’s Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon will be released this year for iOS and Android devices. Watch the E3 2017 trailer below.

Fire Emblem Heroes’ New Event Addresses The Game’s Biggest Problem https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fire-emblem-heroes-new-event-addresses-the-games-biggest-problem/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fire-emblem-heroes-new-event-addresses-the-games-biggest-problem/#respond Thu, 08 Jun 2017 20:59:16 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658998

Nintendo’s latest mobile venture, Fire Emblem: Heroes, has been out for several months now, allowing longtime fans and newcomers alike to enjoy a watered-down version of the series’ iconic combat. Since release, however, the game has remained relatively the same — yes, new features have been added — but, strong characters have remained strong and the meta has remained relatively stable. Now it looks like Nintendo has opted to make a splash with the latest event by addressing the game’s biggest weakness: difficulty.

Fire Emblem: Heroes has a plethora of content for players to enjoy, such as story missions of different difficulty levels, Paralogues and the Arena. Despite that, unless you go out of your way to make it more challenging or the map has specific requirements attached to it, then the way to beat all of these missions are essentially the same: overwhelming force. None of the content required you to think (not even Arena if you knew how to manipulate movement) and there wasn’t much punishment if you didn’t.

That changed with the latest update: Tempest Trials. The new mode has players choose a difficulty and then run through a gauntlet of maps until they complete it or their characters die in the process. While this sounds fairly standard, what sets this mode apart is that your characters retain all incurred damage in between floors and once they’re dead, they remain dead until the run is complete. This means strategies like using Hector to bait out hits aren’t as effective anymore. Sure, he’ll take the hits and likely severely damage the aggressor in return, but he won’t be able to keep it up forever and one wrong move means he’s gone for the entire run which will impact your score.

It’s not all bad though: you aren’t limited to merely using a single team throughout the gauntlet — you can switch between and swap among them in between characters. Of course, this presents its own set of challenges: you need to have an assortment of competent characters to complete a run. Prior to this event, it wasn’t necessary to properly raise 4-6 characters…that won’t work now.

The Tempest Trials is a step in the right direction for Fire Emblem: Heroes. Though it was impractical to fully implement the main game’s battle system, the system this one had in place was still a little frustrating. Finding an intelligent way to implement one of the series’ iconic features in a gacha game, as well as finally putting an emphasis on tactics, shows that Nintendo is fully capable of making this game work.

Here’s to hoping that Nintendo that introduces equally intelligent content in the future….and give away more feathers and orbs.

Atelier Online and Atelier Liddy and Soeur Announced https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/atelier-online-liddy-soeur/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/atelier-online-liddy-soeur/#respond Wed, 07 Jun 2017 08:38:16 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658813

Following days of persistent rumors, Koei Tecmo has officially presented new entries of its light-hearted RPG series Atelier. One of them is Atelier Online: Alchemists of Braceir, a free to play title for smartphones, and the other is the next mainline entry, called Atelier Liddy and Soeur, which continues the Mysterious saga.

Most of the footage revealed at the announcement was part of Atelier Online: Alchemists of Braceir, which despite its mobile nature, it showcases a very similar look to the mainline console entries. Just like any other game in the series, Atelier Online is a classic RPG consisting in exploring the world and gathering ingredients in the most mysterious places. As the title indicates, the online features are the main new component of this title, which will allow us to synthesize new items together with our friends, and even fight battles in cooperative mode.

As for the new mainline game, Koei Tecmo has only revealed the Japanese title and an artwork featuring the silhouettes of the two main characters. All the details on this new entry are kept under wraps for now, but it is said that despite belonging to the same saga as Aterlier Sophie and Atelier Firis, this game will introduce many gameplay additions. Hopefully the company will reveal the first footage at the Tokyo Game Show 2017 in September. While Koei Tecmo has only revealed the title in Japanese characters, the media is referring to the game in English as “Atelier Liddy and Soeur: Alchemists of the Mysterious Painting.”

Atelier Online will be released in Japan for iOS and Android devices this winter. Watch the first trailer below.

There is a New Pokemon Game Coming to Mobile Called Pokeland https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/pokeland-pokemon-game-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/pokeland-pokemon-game-mobile/#respond Wed, 31 May 2017 17:18:20 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658435

There is a new Pokemon game heading to smartphones. If last week iOS and Android devices received the worldwide release of Pokemon: Magikarp Jump, this time it is Japanese users the ones who can try a new spin-off game in their phones. It’s called Pokeland and its gameplay is more action-oriented than the main series, reminiscing of Pokemon Rumble for Wii.

Pokeland contains six islands with 52 levels where players can catch more than a hundred Pokemon, who are now portrayed as toys. The game has been launched in Japan as an alpha, which will be available for Android devices until June 9th, although the game is expected to reach iOS devices in the future.

The game requires an internet connection at all times, and one of the most interesting aspects is that it can connect with the Nintendo account of the players, allowing them to integrate their Mii characters in the game. While the developers haven’t shared any details about a release in North America and Europe, it is expected that the final form of the game will releas in Japan before the year’s end.

With Pokeland, it makes three the mobile games related to the franchise, including Pokemon: Magikarp Jump and the megahit Pokemon Go. However, that doesn’t mean that the series is reducing its presence on consoles, as GameFreak is already hiring to make a new game for 3DS.

For now you can check out more information about Pokeland in the games’ official Japanese website.

Arkanoid vs Space Invaders Crossover Released on Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/arkanoid-vs-space-invaders-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/arkanoid-vs-space-invaders-mobile/#respond Wed, 31 May 2017 09:11:18 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658418

Square Enix and Taito have mashed together two of the most iconic videogame properties. Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is a mobile game that mixes the gameplay of both titles to present a very satisfying experience. The game has been released this week for iOS and Android devices, at a price of $3.99 in the United States.

The gameplay of Arkanoid vs Space Invaders is essentially a merge of both games: players have to reflect the bullets shot by the invaders and use them to destroy the blocks and defeat the enemies. But the game goes beyond that, introducing new mechanics such as collecting energy to launch bigger attacks or triggering the “Attack Mode.”

There are 150 different stages to complete, including boss fights with giant 3D enemies. The game also includes 40 unlockable characters from Taito properties and a Hard Mode for those players who want an extra. And since the game needs to be purchased to be downloaded, it comes completely free of in-app purchases, putting all the content available for the players.

The reception from mobile users has been very positive, with a 4.7 out of 5 grade on Google Play Store. Download Arkanoid vs Space Invaders now on iOS and Android, and watch the trailer below.

The Next Warcraft Could Be Released on Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/the-next-warcraft-could-be-launched-on-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/the-next-warcraft-could-be-launched-on-mobile/#respond Sat, 27 May 2017 09:02:15 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658255

It’s not surprising that Blizzard would be working on a new Warcraft game. However, a new job opening within the company has drawn attention for linking a new project based on the brand to mobile platforms. The position Blizzard would be looking to fill is a talented FX artist that helps them “create exciting visual effects for an unannounced project for mobile.”

Following that summary, the job description goes on explaining that the candidate would have to create visual effects that keep a common aesthetic within the entire app, as the effects would appear in combat, interface and a variety of other features.

But the most interesting part is the requirements section, where apart from listing the regular needs for this kind of job such as experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Maya, or working with the Unity engine, they specifically asks for “passion for creating imagery synonymous with the Warcraft IP.”

Of course, this would not be the first time that Blizzard works with mobile platforms. In fact, the success of the Warcraft spin-off Hearthstone would have been the deciding factor for the company to expands its business on iOS and Android. And while Hearthstone features gameplay focused on collectible cards, the mention of combats in this job listing has made people suspect that the title would have a much closer resemblance with the mainline Warcraft games.

If you would like to apply for the position of FX Artist, you can send your application here.

Magikarp is described as a creature famous for being pathetically weak, unreliable, generally useless, and pretty much the weakest Pokemon ever. And despite all of that, Magikarp has earned the love and devotion of the fanbase, which makes it the perfect candidate to get its own videogame spin off. Magikarp was also the subject of a song posted by the Pokemon Company.

Pokemon: Magikarp Jump features easy controls to be accessible for players of all ages and gamer levels. Gameplay basically consists on tap the food that appears on the screen to give it to your Magikarp, and then complete the jump training to increase its level. After going through several challenges, the Magikarp will retire at level 20, but players will be left with a descendant that will be stronger than the previous generation.

Players can fish a wide variety of Magikarps, including some featuring patterns on their skin like calico and polka dots, which they will be able to show off to their friends on social media.

Additionally, the gameplay allows players to decorate their pong with a selection of elements, with some even helping the Pokemon to grow faster. There will even be some other Pokemons like Pikachu or Piplup that will make a special appearance from time to time, and will give Magikarp some advantages.

Pokemon: Magikarp Jump is out now on iOS and Android. While the app is free to download, it includes in-app purchases.

Clash of Clans Adds Builder Base in Next Update https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/clash-of-clans-builder-base-update/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/clash-of-clans-builder-base-update/#respond Wed, 24 May 2017 08:56:27 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=658065

Developer Supercell has revealed an upcoming update to their mobile megahit Clash of Clans, which will add a huge amount of new content and gameplay mechanics. In summary, the game will add a new kingdom called Builder Base, which functions with its own set of resources. Players will also get to use new units and new battle modes. In fact, some describe the new package as a sequel in disguise, made to boost the popularity of the original game instead of dividing the userbase with another title.

The company details all of the update’s new features in a post of the official Clash of Clans blog. The first thing they explain that the Builder Base is a new region which can be reached one players make it to Town Hall 4 at their home village, which will then allow them to repair the abandoned boat that appeared at the coast some time ago. Once repaired, the new area will be unlocked to visit.

The Builder Base works with a different set of rules than the rest of the game. First of all, it is powered by different resources thn the rest of the game. And while the gems we collect there will cross over when we return to the other land, the elixir and gold we obtain in the new region will stay there.

Players will enjoy a more relaxed type of gameplay in the new region, with their troops training automatically, and the impossibility to be attacked while we don’t have the game open in our mobile device. Troops train in groups, and while each Army Camp can only train one group at a time, players will be able to upgrade them to hold more of them.

In the new Builder Base we will find new buildings and troops as well as old constructions with new twists. New buildings include the defensive Crusher and Push Trap, the Gem Mine, and the Clock Tower, which accelerates the work speed in our base.

But one of the most distinctive addition to this new phase of Clash of Clans will be the Master Builder, a new type of hero which will be unlocked at Builder Hall 5, and will use the upgradeable Battle Machine. Other new troops include Bombers and the Cannon Cart.

Finally, the update will introduce a new game mode called Versus Battle. This will let players to face opponents by launching their best attacks. The one who does the most damage wins the fight and the prize. This mode can be used to win loot and trophies.

While the post doesn’t mention a release date, we expect to see this new Clash of Clans update out very soon.

WSJ: The Legend of Zelda Is Coming to Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/wsj-legend-zelda-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/wsj-legend-zelda-mobile/#respond Mon, 15 May 2017 08:34:34 +0000 http://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=654086

Sources close to Nintendo have confirmed to The Wall Street Journal that the Japanese company is using the veteran franchise The Legend of Zelda to expand their mobile business, in another collaboration with smartphone developer DeNA. The game is expected to arrive after the release of the Animal Crossing mobile title later this year. The news outlet hasn’t given any more details about gameplay, graphic appearance, or the cost of the app, but if the information is to be believe, we should not wait too much time to get the first official presentation.

It’s not surprising that Nintendo has chosen The Legend of Zelda to keep expanding their mobile business, since the Japanese company also released their latest Nintendo Switch console on the back of the latest Zelda title as the main launch title. And to this day, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still one of the favourite choices of buyers to get for their new console, as it can be seen in any weekly sales report.

Nintendo has tried different tactics to get advantage of the mobile market so far. The first mobile title related to a Nintendo franchise was last summer’s mega-hit Pokemon GO, but the company only had a small participation on the benefits from that game, which was developed and published by Niantic. It was a little later when Super Mario Run would arrive to the market with a business model that allowed players to play the first levels for free, but it demanded a payment of $10 to unlock the rest of the game.

Despite the title not meeting Nintendo’s business projections, the Japanese company has declared that they prefer Super Mario Run’s payment model to free-to-play titles like the recent Fire Emblem Heroes, even when the latter has proved to be a success from day one.

However, mobile titles are still a small part of the Nintendo’s financial model, adding only $176.4 million to their revenue according to the latest fiscal year report, but market analysts believe the number will grow exponentially in the current year.

This coming E3 would be the perfect chance for Nintendo to announce their mobile expansion, so we’ll stay alert for any news related to this Legend of Zelda mobile title.

Play With Life in Your Pocket: EA Presents The Sims Mobile https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/ea-presents-the-sims-mobile/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/ea-presents-the-sims-mobile/#respond Fri, 12 May 2017 09:00:14 +0000 http://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=653983

Electronic Arts has a new iteration of The Sims coming to iOS and Android devices. Aptly called The Sims Mobile, the developer is determined to take advantage of the massive appeal of the brand with the most complete Sims game ever released for smartphones and tablets. The free to play title has been created from scratch, prioritizing the design of new characters and decoration elements instead of recycling content from previous entries.

The key features of this new game are related with the more realized social system, with an entirely new set of dialogue options that allows players to build much more complex relationships between characters. Moreover, the new online options will let us engage in more advanced interations, like hosting a house party along with an online friend, where other characters can assist and interact with each other.

The character creation tool has also been redesigned to allow more features and character traits than ever, adding new hairstyles, outfits, accessories, and the chance to choose new professional careers like fashion designer, club DJ, or doctor, while also open the door to new hobbies like cooking, guitar playing, or writing.

A new addition of The Sims Mobile related to these professions is the Family Tree system, in which the career of one of our Sims can open the doors to a more advanced path for his/her descendants. For example, if we set our Sim to be a lawyer, that will allow his grandson to become a judge, or we could have a case where the niece of a professional cook could become a celebrity chef. This opens the door to players shaping up the traits of an entire family, adding a whole new level of customization through time.

But of course, EA hasn’t forgotten that one of the most fun parts of the game is the decoration of our home space, for which The Sims Mobile offers an entirely new collection of furniture, appliances, decorations, etc. Those elements can also be combined to unlock new activities like snuggling on a couch, and customizable spaces like fashion studios, restaurants, or nightclubs.

The Sims Mobile really feels like the closest we have ever been to play a PC version of the series in our pocket. While EA hasn’t confirmed a release date, the game is expected to launch very soon. For now, watch the trailer below.

The Injustice 2 Mobile Game is Available Now https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/the-injustice-2-mobile-game-is-available-now/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/the-injustice-2-mobile-game-is-available-now/#comments Thu, 11 May 2017 20:37:54 +0000 http://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=653966

If you just can’t wait to get your hands on Injustice 2 and are willing to settle for a mobile version of the game, it’s currently available on the App Store and Google Play.  The first Injustice mobile game was pretty good when you consider it’s a fighting game on a phone.

You’ve got all the normal functionality of a fighting game, while playing on a touch screen.  That means you can jump, duck, shoot projectiles, and execute iconic super moves like in the bigger console and PC game.  Of course, this is dumbed down a little bit on mobile devices.  Swiping and tapping allows you to perform combination, while pressing on icons allows you to pull of moves that are a little bit more complex in the main game.

As far as looks and sound, for a mobile game this is pretty damn good.  We got a chance to play a bit of it ahead of this announcement just to test it out.

Injustice 2 is free, but it does offer in-app purchases.  An in-game store allows you to use gems to unlock heroes to add to your team.  You’ll earn gems by playing the game.  This is a mobile title though, there are plenty of opportunities for you to spend real money in the game as well.  We saw some pretty pricey offers in playing for only a short time.  Harley Quinn gold pack that costs $49.99, A power-pack of gems that cost $19.99, and a starter pack that costs $2.99.

You don’t need any of those things to enjoy the game, but it’s pretty ridiculous how much some of these in-game items cost.

The game features a campaign, online arena mode, story mode, and leagues which are coming soon.

Nintendo Switch Mini Expected to Release in 2019 https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-switch-mini-expected-release-2019/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/nintendo-switch-mini-expected-release-2019/#respond Mon, 17 Apr 2017 13:27:14 +0000 http://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=651722

While the Nintendo Switch has just recently hit store shelves and quickly became the company’s fastest selling console, analysts are already starting to project what Nintendo will be doing in the future.

According to Citigroup, they believe that the Switch’s potential as both a home console and portable gaming system will lead to a smaller version of it released down the line dubbed the “Switch Mini” by 2019.

The prediction comes from the analyst believing that the Nintendo Switch as is could miss the younger audience due to its size and weight.  They believe that with Nintendo wanting to capture this market, a lighter, dedicated handheld version of the Switch will arrive in the years to come.

It sounds like Citigroup is expecting that Nintendo will move away from the dedicated handheld space altogether.  Right now, it is fractured between the new Nintendo Switch which offers both living room and on-the-go gaming, and the Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo has made no announcements in regards to a Switch Mini or about their plans for future handhelds.
