Microsoft has recently unveiled the Carbon Black Xbox Series S at Xbox Showcase 2023. Its sleek coloring, matte finish, and larger storage closely match its bigger brother, the Xbox Series X.
The Carbon Black Xbox Series S will be released on September 1, 2023, costing $349 USD. Its beefier price tag is due to the console’s 1 TB SSD, which is almost double the 512GB capacity of the regular Series S.
To match its renewed look, the Carbon Black Xbox Series S includes a black Xbox Wireless Controller, identical to the one included with the standard Xbox Series X. Pre-orders are available today (June 11, 2023) in the US, with other regions to receive news and prices in the near future.

Black and White Xbox Series S Differences
Besides the larger SSD and color of the console and controller, the Carbon Black Xbox Series S is identical to the standard Xbox Series S. Even with a larger solid-state drive, it’s still as surprisingly small as ever.
While the Series S’s slim stature was praised at launch, its even slimmer storage space was not. After downloading a handful of games, gamers soon found their consoles at full capacity. According to Larry Hryb, director of programming, the Carbon Black Xbox Series S is a direct response to the request of fans.
With the ridiculous file sizes for AAA games these days, the Carbon Black Series S is undoubtedly a welcome addition to the Xbox family. It also drops just in time for Starfield, which finally received a September release date and an extensive look into Bethesda’s most ambitious project yet.
You’ll also be thankful for the Carbon Black Series S’s bulkier storage with the number of exciting games announced at Xbox Showcase this year, including a new Fable title, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and Obsidian’s latest venture, Avowed.
